I know alot of guys leaving the flat bench press. I've even reduced how much i flat bench, prolly once or twice a month. Why are you walking away from it?

An old pec injury, have a large buildup of scar tissue in my right pec. Any time I do any form of chest work, it tightens a lot and becomes painful. No amount of SMR or ART has helped, so I'm just dropping it for a 6+ month period. Train OH press strictly now, and just started some band flies for stretching my chest.

Man, that sucks. That warrior mentally is still there despite your injury. How does it feel with those band flies?

Did band flies for the first time actually saturday after no chest the past 2 months, felt pretty good despite a few tweaks trying to find a form that didn't bother me. Chest was sore after 3x15 with a mini band, lol.

It's been bothering me for 3 years now, first 1.5yr I decided to lift through it like a noob, doubt I'll ever bench much again with any frequency. 300x1 using a close grip at 190, trained close grip only the few times I would bench as it was less straining on my pec.

Impressive... Well you can always supercompensate with your dead and squat.

I'll have to go some where to do a "legal" squat , deads I can do at the gym. Bench now is about 225 to 240. My best ever is 270. But that was a year or two ago. My best hacksquat is 360, my best rackset is 300. My best legal squat was haha about 30 years ago at 325 @ 165 lbs same with the legal dead was 425 at the same weight. I use to love pulling that deadlift. It felt awsome! But that was when I was young 23 years old. So the closest I can come to is 900 till I get to a squat rack. It seems like the legs are waking up so who know what will happen.
