I thought we should see how many of us old-farts are out there. How old are we, and how long have we been lifting, what kind of results ? I will get us started. I am 45 yrs old started lifting again about seven months ago,I couldn't believe how out of shape I had gotten, now I can't beleive how far I have come, I am in the best shape I have been in twenty yrs.but still have a long way to go.WishI hadn't pissed away those twenty yrs.

I'm 38 as of 12-12 and have been lifting for 2 wks. I'm seeing results beyond what I expected and am really thrilled. I just can't get enough of the workouts LOL. I'm loving it.

I'm 6'0" and 205 lbs. Although not all of those 205 lbs are in the right places, but I'm working on rearranging them.

BTW, my name is Rick and this is my first post. I've read alot of posts on here and seems like a friendly online community. Hopefully I can learn some things and maybe help someone later on.

Cheers!
Rick

You already know me.... I'm pretty much the ol' fart of the group!

(Been lifting on and off for 30 years or so... cosistantly for three years now - that is without missing more than one week).

I'm 41. Will be 42 in Feb. 220 lbs. trying to cut to 200. Was 245 and hadn't worked out since college in '85. I could barely tie my shoes, felt like crap. When I hit 40 I was ashamed of how I looked and decided to turn it around

Allwood, you are looking super strong keep up the good work. I too started back to the healthy lifestyle at 41; I was heavy and in poor condition.

Rbrashear beware the fades trunks. I plan to order some navy blue ones.

The mind and the body are interrelated: what you do to one necessarily effects the other. There must be a balance between the two. If your body is strong but your mind is weak, you are a powerful instrument with no direction; such an instrument rarely produces good. If your mind is strong but your body is weak, then you may be filled with purpose and good intentions but have no strength necessary to act on your impulses. You must strengthen your mind to control your body; and strengthen your body so you can always follow the good directions of your mind.

Hello, You guys rock!!!! I am 48 years old. I have been banging around the ole weights for most of my life. 8 years ago I had the fight of my life, cancer pulled me down to the point of no return I thought.. Lucky for me that I am back on track and could be bigger then ever. Some people told me that I was to old to build muscle? Wrong, I have been adding muscle for over two years now.
All natural..
Take care Ralphiejohn
maybe i will do the picture thing come spring.
