Default Ouija's Stage Quest - 09-21-2014, 04:18 PM

Well. Figured I'd start a new b(log). Mostly because the old one got locked. Also because, well, it's time to get serious.

So, doing my damnedest to get on stage in 2015. I have a few obstacles:

1. Sciatica
2. Dialing in the diet
3. Going back to school in the spring
4. Staying motivated

So, I have come up with solutions.

1. Keep on physical therapy, work around it the best I can. Mostly, hold myself accountable and actually do my exercises/stretches at home!

2. Hiring a coach...either an IFBB pro or a semi-local guru or join on another local team...looking into all 3 guys at the moment.

3. 4 am training if necessary. Gym is open, no excuses.

4. Social life /end. You can't cheat the grind, and I'm ready to go all in again. Dealt with a lot in the past between injuries, family troubles and so forth. Everything is settled and I finally have time to focus on me, myself, and protein lol.

So for now training volume Cutler style, very light cardio, and just trying to keep my carb portions low enough to get down to sub 10% bodyfat and just slowly put on muscle. Planning on growing into my stage body rather than overshoot and have to shed a bunch of weight.

And of course this thread is usless without pics. Obvious gym shot in an ipyu shirt. Pre Vaca in the tanning booth, vaca in my room, and post vaca sept 8th in the purple sh!tting room lol. We'll consider this the before collection. Weight was between 178-182 in these. At 186 now, should be in the 190's and lean by the end of October (depending on when I get my diet done). I'll get measurements in soon.

Well due to sciatica (lack of leg training) and my lack of desire to force feed myself or use the amount of "supplements" I would need to do BB...I'm planning on doing Men's Physique

Quick update...should have some pics this weekend. Had to drain a cyst on my back so waiting for that to heal lol.

Got MRI's on my back today, should have the results in a few days.

Getting some wisdom teeth yanked on Thursday so going to be taking a day off training (and eating) for that...

Otherwise things are going well, been able to keep the calories about where I need them, feeling healthy training wise so, time to do some work!

MRI came back. Bulging disc. Seeing the spine specialist on the 16th to decide next step, from what I gather most likely more PT.

Getting 2 teeth yanked tomorrow morning...I'll post back up when I'm not doped up lol

Trained legs yesterday (kinda). First time since...erm..June'ish

Leg ext and light leg press. Didn't bother the back/sciatic too much. I'll take it as a step in the right direction. Still in tons of pain in general though.

Going to start bumping up the calories. Been consistent on cardio so I gotta feed the machine. One more week till I see the surgeon before I can make a game plan with regards to the bulging disc/training etc.

Up to 190lbs am weight, post morning "relief".

Getting a spinal injection (L5 disc) of steroids on Monday to reduce the inflammation around the nerve. They say it will give physical therapy round 2 a better chance of working and should put off surgery for a while, at the very least I'll have some pain relief.

Been taking in more carbs. Got some leg pressing in this week (a little heavier than before), extensions and hamstring curls as well as hip thrusters so hopefully I can get some progress out of those for now.

Overall changed my training style up a bit. Everything has been lighter, the actual reps are less intense but more focused. Rest time is half what I normally use. Pretty much chasing the pump, keeping the volume high and everything is 2-3 reps short of failure. Delts are popping, bicep veins like a mother...whatever I'm doing, seems to be working for now.

So I've been poking around the forums lately thinking, why the hell doesn't anybody keep blogs on here anymore. Then I remembered I'm terrible at it so hopefully over the winter I get a bit more serious.

Got my spine injection, so going back to PT the 24th for a re-pre-evaluation and working specifically on lumbar strength so hopefully by the end of this I will be good to squat! or at least be 90% pain free...I'll take either happily.

So, keeping diet on track, making sure I get a bit more cardio in, watching my supplements for joint support...hopefully I'll be in shape enough to start Ouija 2.0 By new years

Well hit a bit of a double whammy here. Ended up getting an infection, trip to the doc for some drugs, good to go. 3 days later, stomach virus. Needless to say in the last day alone I lost 7lbs. Calories for 2 days under 1000.

But I'm starting to feel better now and solid foods are ok so far.

Day 4 of stomach bug. Feeling 80% better. Still a little unsettled by the time I get home from work. But other than my gut, the rest of my body feels fine. Finally done hurting from all the yaking I did lol.

Going to head to the gym in a few to see what I can get done, haven't trained in a week

Well it's been a long while since I've been able to update this. And a long while since I've been back training..kinda.

Winter has been a mixed bag of total sh!t. Physical therapy hit a dead end. I'm not evaluating my condition to see if I can live with it, or go under the knife and let them cut into my disc.

Working 60+ hours, bouncing around on forklifts and in plow trucks has made recovery very difficult...but its paying the medical bills lol. Unfortunately the added strain on my back and lack of time (I'm back in college) my training has been very...barely existent.

In the middle of this a close friend passed away...

But it is spring, soon, and things are getting better. Still look alright. Working on getting shredded, minus the goodies.
