Default Basics to Bodybuilding - 06-03-2008, 02:51 PM

I've been working out for about a month now and I'm gotten some good results but could someone give me the basics to bodybuilding? I know that this is a very broad topic but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'll give you the skinny on it. These are the basics:

1) Tear the muscles down with workouts
2) Proper rest to allow them to rebuild and grow
3) Proper diet to promote recovery and growth to get bigger/stronger

That's perhaps more over-simplified than you might have been looking for, but for item #1, there are more ways to do this than I'll ever be able to learn or remember.

yep, your doing the part that most people never get to....research.

just like rick said, step one: get in the gym
two: get a routine going
three: correct diet errors
four: dont let anything get in your way, never quit on yourself

PROPER FORM IMO!!!. You can jerk the heaviest weight your capable of holding on to and your not gonna get the results you would by lowering the weight and lifting with the proper form.

ok here you go:

-Train hard
-Eat alot
-Eat healthy
-Dont overtrain
-Stick to compound movements (squat, bench, deadlift) AKA BREAD AND BUTTER
-Keep good form (when in doubt BACK STRAIGHT CHEST OUT LOCK THE SPINE)
-Dont stick to the same regimen for too long
-Get enough sleep
-Drink water till your pee is clear
-Take a multivitamin
-Take enough protein

pretty much the most important things
