What Big55 says could work.

Kris what version of Media Player do you have? I've never had any problems playing AVI files. Also, it can be a problem with the creator of the AVI file. I've had a small handful of really jacked up files.

Looks like you dont have the right codecs. Media player classic works, but a better solution is VLC player, with this you'll be able to play EVERYTHING.

VLC media player. Most downloads are in avi-divx format. Vlc plays just about everything. Media player classic is good also, but does not work well with vista. Hope that helps.
