Default RickB's Whatever Thread - 02-24-2010, 01:03 PM

I started one of these over @ Steve's site and now he and another guy have one. So feel free to start your own

It can be about anything. A post and dash blog if you will!

-------

Today is a little bit of a dark day for my wife's family and frankly I'm sad too. Her grandmother (who raised her until the 7th grade) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning. Jennifer is back to school and her graduation is in May. She will become an R.N. Her Grandmother was an R.N. as well and Jennifer had planned on having her Grandmother put the pin on her at the graduation ceremony. I would imagine, graduation is going to be a bitter sweet for her now.

And no, this ain't going to be an EMO thread. I'm just starting it coincidentally on the day of the funeral. Adam and I are pallbearers. May Grandma Bearden Rest in Peace!

Grandma Bearden was laid to rest today. This was extra tough for Jennifer and pretty tough on Adam too. You see, we live just 2 blocks away and we were there a lot. Adam stayed with her many times over night whenever Granddad was out of town. I was called on for favors many times and in fact just a few weeks ago hung a flat screen on the wall for her.

Times like these makes you realize that funerals are a necessary part of healing. Everyone seemed more at ease after the services. OK, I'm done with this subject.

I took my new S&W .22 out to shoot a few weeks ago. I really like that thing, but I need to decide what optics to put on it.

I bought a 3 x 9 Scope that has blue illuminated reticle and also a built in laser for my AR-15. One more thing that I want is this .22 conversion for it. This will make plinking WAY more cheap and should pay for itself soon!

$205.00

Another gun I would like that I've heard are just rugged as hell is an AK-47. They aren't as accurate as the AR-15, but just as fun to shoot!

I'm also eyeing a 12 gauge O/U shotgun.

How about this?

I 'didnt' have an ak once. I realized it was to much of a liability to illegally 'not' own..... ended up 'not' trading for a soda vending machine (which quickly turned into a Tecate vending machine)

I got notification today that my grips for my S&W .22 finally shipped after I ordered them the week of Christmas. S&W supports sucks and was very short with me on the phone when I called after waiting a month with no acknowledgement of them being on backorder. I would have been short back but I really wanted these grips and the "no give-a-sh!t" tone they gave me on the phone told me they would have happily cancelled the order.

But anyways, these are the grips:
