Default Cutting routine help - 10-23-2012, 02:46 PM

I'm about to do a two month cut, trying to drop 8-10% bodyfat. I know it's bulking season but I can't find any pants that fit me anymore ha need to slim down a little. Anyone know a good cutting routine fst-7, gvt, etc. I'm ggoing to try my hardest to keep my diet on point because I know that's the most important part of cutting. Any help is much appreciated

I've never adjusted my routine for that too much if any. I adjust my fork activity. I don't like thinking that all the extra work I'm doing is because I'm trying to outrun my diet. I know 2 competitors that do this as well....with pro cards.

It's real easy...less carbs or burn more calories.

So you don't really need to do high reps low weight?

You don't have to. But that's not a bad method...just an option. But that said when you say "low weight" don't go too low your you risk losing muscle size. You can also do standard workouts and minimize rest time like recarp mentioned, do supersets, or workout normal then finish with cardio, etc. Many ways to skin a cat.

It really is as simple as ouija said about calories. I don't go the lower carb route though...I kept the same balance of carbs, protein, and fats as far as ratio and lowered the size of the meals. Calories in must be less than calories burned. The method you choose whether it be with the fork and/or method in the gym is up to you. But to maintain muscle, don't try to lose too rapidly and keep killing it in the gym the best you can.

This ain't from me....but from someone I know who's at 7% BF, 200lbs and stands 5'7"

throw in cardio immediately after weight training for approx 30 min..your choice of activity. Use rep ranges in the 15-20 range with a weight about 45% your one rep max with no more than 2 min rest between sets. This will give you a blood pump and help burn fat while shaping you up. Cut your carbs from your diet down, stay AWAY from sugars and high fructose corn syrup.

This is him but he lives in Ohio and I in Maryland....

How about this then....for the last....week perhaps....I changed my diet, drop a carbs to about 10% up protein to about 60 and the fats at 30. While my weight hasn't changed....I have been noticing viens that I never seen before in my right forearm.
