Default Zach Dirr's Pushing through Limits Log - 01-29-2013, 08:20 PM

First off, I would like to apologize to my family here at IPYU. I have had a lot of changes happen the last month and a half and I apoligize for being hit or miss for quite some time. I appreciate everyone sending me texts and phone calls through out this period to check in and make sure I was still hitting the gym.

Secondly, I have decided to start a new thread here as I have some insights on life and have learned a lot about by myself after doing a lot of self reflections.

As life rolls day by day, I sit back and read my bible and that has allowed myself to grow spiritually. Better yet, it has allowed me to become more mentally strong and with that, I am back and am more determined than ever to show it by my physique. No numbers, No boasting, just good hard sweat equity will show the hard work and dedication that I will bring to the table here in 2013.

-Zach

No apology ever necessary as we all have to deal with life and do what works best for us and those important to us. Sounds like you've hit the "reset" button so in the words of one beastly Menace...."Leh Go!" LOL!

Tonight I took a night off and went and spent the night with my folks. Mom is a fighter, she is still having her ups and downs as expected with her treatments but so far she seems to be doing a pretty good job from what the nurses and dr have been informing us.

It is one thing for me to always struggle with my own outlook on life. Sitting here typing this as I am in her room taking my rightful time to watch over her, she wakes up at times and she will wink at me. This is something that she has always done as much as I can remember growing up. She always told me that everytime she winks, that is her way of telling me that everything will be okay.

I guess no matter how difficult this is for me not being able to help her physical stature it just tears me apart knowing how I am with myself as an competitor. No matter how hard I strive to always want the best for myself or any loved ones I come across in my path as a 28 yr old. Moments like these, when I am able to sit back and reflect are priceless.

It cracks me up because my dad called me when I was at job #1 this morning and he informed me that one of the nurses informed him that mom wanted pictures of us kids for her to hang in her room. Dad informed me that this was the picture she wanted of me:

Strong struggles make us compassionate for not only our loved ones but for those we've shown no love. Prayers to you and your family. Prayers to your mom that god may settle his hand over her and bring peace and fast healing.
