The Iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you're a god or a total bastard. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. The Iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds.

I agree with Titus

Best in the order I think they should be and it may surprise some.,

Ronnie Coleman
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Lee Haney'
Sergio Olivia
Franko Columbo

Worst
Greg Kovac Just because he had awesome potential and never used it.
Craig Titus Just for what he did to the sterotype for bodybuilders
Lee Priest just for his attitude

Mike Menter just because I think he was full of shit.

BEST:
Arnold Schwarzenegger- The status he brought to the sport.
Milos Sarcev- His knowledge and spreading of the positive attitude of bodybuilding.
Ronnie Coleman- Going out on a limb, starting a new trend and his dedication.

Worst:
Mike Mentzer- He never really brought a good image to bodybuilding.

Best up and coming:
Dennis Wolf- I am a huge DEnnis fan b/c i beleive that him winning will bring back the DEFINITON OF BODYBUILDING!!!! I know now that some one is going to get pissed b/c i am writing this but over the years bbing has become nothing but a game of the MASS Monsters! Gh guts, unsymmetrical limbs, etc......... Dennis Wolf as a GREAT abdominal cavity for the biggest man on stage. he has one of the smallest, tucked waist and a pair of the broadest shoulds giving the great effect of the v-taper. True his calves have got to be brought up but he is symmetrical and for the most, in proportion! In the olypia he was robbed! He was dry, lean, and sherreded! Watch out for Dennis Wolf b/c it won't be long before the wolf attacks!

I agree with you about the size game getting way out of control. I think their is hope now that dexter won this past olympia. I have always been a fan of his. But like you said with guys like dennis wolf, phil heath, and brandon curry(just turned pro) the future is looking better.

In this order-
Frank Zane
Bob Paris
Steve Reeves
Lee Haney
Lou Ferigno/ mabey Arnold

One worst

Ronnie Coleman

Watch his videos-He's a slob. Crushed my image of what you should be doing to be a bodybuilder-he almost tuned my back on it all together.

All that aside, I lost respect for him when he started charging for an autograph at the Olympia expo.

btw, do you classify rice and potatoes as vegetables in that blog?

He competed, but he never really won many notable competitions. He was 2nd to Arnold, and then he kinda fell off the map when he could have been someone great. He had the chance to contribute something to sport, and instead his light just flickered and burned out. While he was competing, he didn't take anything away from the sport, but he definitely didn't contribute anything to it either.

He could have done something in the bodybuilding community at least, if not the sport. But I haven't seen any of that either. If you should be unlucky enough to talk to him, he's a real prick. And the way he carries himself, it seems he is just out to make a fast buck, or thirty. Aside from Ronnie Coleman, absolutely NO ONE charged for an autograph, and at least Ronnie can justify it. But I'll be damned if I pay $30 for a picture of Lou Ferrigno.

At the end of the day, he's not a "has been", he's a "never was".

Not making excuses for him, but....
Quote:
Ferrigno was motivated to become a bodybuilder as a teenager by an experience all too common to hearing impaired youth of the 1970s -- he was teased by peers for being hard of hearing. I can remember reading newspaper articles about him in the 1970s, where he talked about having been called "Deaf Louie." His bodybuilding led to his memorable role as the Hulk.

Also he stopped bodybuilding to get into acting. Alot more money involved in that than bodybuilding.

Everyone knows that he was hearing impared, and that was actually said multiple times in the movie "pumping iron". I fail to see how being hard of hearing means he should become/do less than others to contribute.

Apparently that acting thing was lucrative for him, thats why he needs to charge $30 a photo at an expo where everyone else is free.

his acting career (that i know of):
-Hulk movies
-King of Queens (small role at best)

My top 3 would be:

1. Dexter "The Blade" Jackson
2. Frank Zane
3. Arnold Schwarzenegger

I like Ronnie as well, hes deff a beast in the gym. Has a bad attitude though.
