Thumbs up E_P_C goes APE - 07-02-2012, 08:32 PM

This will be second time using APE from Athletic Edge Nutrition and i will be logging over here for this one. Right now im training for AAU Worlds in October along with a few other smaller events. This training is going to have to take me to another level and thatís where APE comes in.

So the first log was for a transformation contest where my main goal was to just drop as much body fat as possible. The strength increases were outstanding and I am hoping for the same result this time around. My main goal for this log will be to increase strength and improve my body compostition. Right now my weight is right around 165 so I donít need to drop weight or increase during this log.

So to sum it up Increase Strength + Redefine Body Compostition= Epic results!

Ok now on to the details:

Like I said im currently around 165 BW and probably around 12-13% BF

Competition Goals:

50+ Pull ups- Currently at 42
325lb Weighted Pull up- Currently around 315
Squat: 315, Bench: 275, Deadlift: 485- Currently around 285/255/465

Supplements:

APE- dosed at 2 capsules 5 days a week
http://www.illpumpyouup.com/athletic...rition/ape.htm
Creatine RT- 1 scoop pre workout
http://www.illpumpyouup.com/athletic...reatine-rt.htm
IntrAbolic- 1 scoop intra workout
http://www.illpumpyouup.com/athletic...intrabolic.htm
Intraxcell- 3 capsules at night
http://www.illpumpyouup.com/athletic...intraxcell.htm
Orange Triad- 3 capsules in the A.M and P.M
http://www.illpumpyouup.com/controll...ange-triad.htm
Whey Protein- I rotate between ON Hydrobuilder, Gaspari Nutrition MyoFusion Probiotic Series, and ON Gold Standard Whey
Casein- Rotate between Universal Casein Pro and Dymatize Elite Casein

Training:

I will be using 5/3/1 as a base- so 3 cycle's of this
Additional Exercises are all dependent on what I want to do on that day
Minimum of 4 lifting days a week and 2 additional cardio days
Mondays are my off day

Diet:

Whatever I want to eat. Roughly 2200-2700 calories depending on the day. Healthy fats, moderate carb intake and about 160-200 grams of Protein. I know how to
eat and I will just go off what the mirror shows. I will be doing some intense training + cardio so fat gain will not be an issue whatsoever.

Ok so i think thats about everything. I have less than 14 weeks till the event and will be logging APE for 12 of that along with the other supplements. Waiting on delivery of APE this week and then i will kick things off! I will include start pics and pics at the end, but this wont be my main focus, like i said the numbers i put up at this BW are the most important thing on my mind

I forgot to mention that i will be starting the first cycle of 5/3/1 with APE so until then im just doing a little of everything. Also im taking all the supplements listed except APE right now. I have been REALLY dehydrated this week, probably from it being crazy hot outside and working out in my garage which is like a sauna so i have been trying to drink as much water as possible.

DB Side Raises-

45x15
45x15

Motivation:

"There are no shortcuts to any place worth going."

Food:

Well i had planned on grilling but it rained all day so that didnt happen. Pretty much a cheat day, actually didnt even end up drinking since i was dehydrated and was pounding water all day. Sorry for lack of food pics today, didnt end up cooking anything besides breakfast.

Think of that when you're in here hurting and you're wondering how do you go on, the better question is how do you not go on."

Thoughts for the Day:

Took the weekend off and lay by the pool and ate and drank all weekend. It showed on the scale today. Not worried about it, will be starting APE here in the next few days and will clean up the diet a little bit. Today is normally an off day but got a few sets of weighted pull ups in anyways.

Training:

Weighted Pull ups-

70x14
55x17
90x3
125x3

Motivation:

Food:

Went out to dinner tonight and had a Tex Burger, avocado, jalapenos, chili, cheese, and the meat. Was delicious.

Post Day 10 Pre APE - 07-11-2012, 11:25 PM

Thoughts for the Day:

Word of the day: Confidence. 255 is my previous PR, no spotter smashed out 255 and 260 today. Ditching the plates never crossed my mind, knew i would get it. Got 1 bottle of APE today. Will have to get two more bottles of APE but this will get me started on Monday. Going to be traveling next week, but will be getting workouts in and some cardio in the mornings. Not sure about the gym at the hotel but i will make use of what i have and might even use next week as a deload from the compounds and just do BW. Idk we will see, either way i have a very good idea of what all my maxes are after this week, and some of these numbers could get scary by the end of 12 weeks of APE.

Training:

Bench Press-

135x10
185x5
225x3
250x2 PR
255x1
260x1 PR
225x4

Press-

135x1
155x1
175x Half way Fail
135x5

Switch Grip Pull/Chin ups-

Set of 18

Clean and Press-

135x1
155x1
175x Fail

Motivation:

"Whether you think you can or think you can't - you are right."

Food:

More chicken, rice, and veggies. Will start making this section better once the log starts.
