Hey this is a challenge for Ouija. Help to hold him accountable . The challenge is to squat these weights:

315lbs by 9/11

405lbs by 12/31

I know FNBO is in on it also but is there anyone else?

Yes sir...we got things worked out after we talked. It's all good and they've been trying to keep me involved now. It's much easier for me to push/promote the gym when I feel truly part of it!

I helped the owners set up the gym, loaned some of my equipment (squat rack and weight plates), and helped move them again. Sometimes loan money for t-shirts etc. He told me early on that he'd list me as a 20% investor, but we hit a little snag earlier in our gym relationship/partnership. But all is well now.

@Recarp: Thanks!

I need to get my 405 asstograss. I can squeeze 315 in for 5atg right now.

My squatting goals: 405x1atg. And frontsquat 365x1atg. With my new working mans schedule and revamped diet I should get it in 4-8 weeks

You should give atg a shot for a few weeks, I don't feel comfortable not going down all the way. It gives my knees and groin area (no joke) a strain.

How did I miss this thread!? lol

I'm all over this shietttt. A bit more of a mental goal and a technique-learning experience but I'm def going for it. Actually cleared my first hurdle last week, got my stance figured out where I'm comfortable with my balance and the knees go through the motion just fine. Another 8 or 9 leg sessions left to build that lower back, work on my form and I'll be ready for the 9/11 challenge which I feel bad about as I'll be either on my last week of HDrol or my first week of PCT. So with that in mind, this 315 goal MIGHT wind up being 315 for a whole set if not more.

None of that ATG stuff yet, I'll save that for next year when I can squat without fearing for my life (or lower back lol). But OTK about how much weight would you say you do with this method vs conventional squats?

and for you seasoned squatters, how much are you leg pressing vs squatting, I think getting an average ration here will help me tune my long term goals.

I can leg press a pretty decent amount more than I can squat. Especially repping it out.

I kinda thought that... let's do it then. Maybe i'll push for 585 for 10 by that time. Let me think about that tho.

Decent squaters usually leg press something ridiculous. I don't go extremely heavy on leg press that much. I usually save leg press for volume (20 - 100 reps) rather than weight.

Ya, a guy I know rocks ~1300lbs for sets. He said something about getting back to the 2000lb ballpark haha. But I think his squat goal was 700 or something crazy like that. Just a natural leg freak. His BB career kinda got sidetracked with a shoulder/elbow tendon surgeries and a new job...but arm sling and all I remember he'd be in the gym at least 2 or 3 sometimes 4 days a week, still doing legs abs and cardio lol

i think my parallel squat is only 50 lbs or so more than my atg. although i never really stick with consistent parallel squats to find out the max. i think i will though, just in case ;P

and yeah on the leg press i can get pretty silly, max ill put 18 plates and two 110lb dumbbells and hit it 6-10 times. but i normally save the leg press for a finisher and use real light weight, high reps, slow movement, not locking or bottoming out in ROM, and heels together-toes out: that normally fries the hell out of my quads
