Default Bike HIIT - 06-06-2011, 10:55 AM

This might not be a challenge for some but it sure challenges me everytime i do it.

Get on a stationary bike.

Set the level to 12 for beginners or 15 for advanced.

5 min @ 70 RPM
10 min HIIT: 45 sec @ 80 RPM and 15 sec @ 130-150 RPM x 10
20 min @ 70 RPM


It's not crazy but it is a challenege to make it to the end. Oh yeah, be prepared to sweat your bottom out!

I haven't done much bike stuff. And not even sure ours shows the rpm, but I'll check it out. I'm a "maybe" LOL!

I am a "for sure" for today. I have some kind of hitch in my back right under my right shoulder blade and a bike challenge now sounds better than ever If it doesn't show me RPM's, I'll just wing it somehow.

Ok, I did it and not sure im happy about it either...my quads are still burning...tried to video some of it but it was way to shaky. Had a buddy with me and we both done it..Thursday is gonna be a tough leg day I think...I done mine on level 13 and just could finish.

I failed! Not because of my back, but because of the wussification embedded in my non-cardio's arse!

I rode the bike the whole time and started of fairly well. I succeeded with 3 HIIT intervals and then I lowered the level down to 12. Completed a couple more and lowered it down to 10. Ended up, I had to get off the bike for a bit. Leg pump was insane and I'm just a wuss! haha! And Mek, you said this was nothing crazy! I beg to differ my friend!

But I did finish out around 40+ minutes total. But my second mount on the bike was level 10 and steady pedaling around 65-70 rpm. <---it does have rpm.

I finished around 1:30 rick and my legs are still bothering me...only thing that kept me going was that I ride the bike pretty often but damn!! never done the HIIT thing before, i usually just watch my heart rate and do what it takes to keep it high for 20-30 minutes. this for sure kicked my tail...

Since I got sick this week and have not been able to do much I will get started again on Monday.

This will be the perfect time for me to do this challenge on Monday after Chest. for my interval training at the end of my workout.

I love bike intervals, trying to squeeze them in twice a week. I normally do 15 rounds of 15/45 seconds and my final is only 10 minutes of moderate speed.

Definitely gets me sweating heavily. I'm due for a round sunday, ill give Mek's layout a shot.

Thats a good one kris for sure...I try to hit the bike 20 minutes everyday after my workout and I usually try to keep my heart rate around 150 for that length of time but that interval training kicked my tail...

Yeah it kicks your rear real nice. Unless extreme weightloss is your goal, I wouldn't do it more than 3 times a week
