i know free wieghts are better, are there any lat workouts that i can do with free weights? my lats are a little underdevloped.

Pullups, be sure to go to full extension and focus hard on the negative. Bent over rows, particularly with a wide grip, are great for the lats too. Bent arm DB pullovers are another often overlooked compound exercise that can really hit those lats.
Lats were the most recent weakness of mine that I attacked. Take them seriously, drop weight on exercises if you need to, but be sure you are making the mind-muscle connection with them to truly benefit.

If youve got a weightbelt you can attach some weights ot it for a better pull up workout.

pull-ups kick my ass, but i have some sad lats....

As do I, but i can rip off about 8 with with a 45 around my wast.

One of the best all around Lat exercises is still and will always be the pullup. For you guys that can do 10 15 per set I salute you keep doing them. Bent over rows work well too. Believe it or not Dead lifts still hit the latisimus Dorsi quite effenciently. It may not feel like it,but when you roll those shoulders back and pull with your back you are working your lats.

Yeah I def feel it in the lats when i do deeads as well.
